John Lindsay, John Jesnor Lindsay. Blue movie producer and director. Scottish-born. Starts his career as a press photographer assigned to cover football but quickly moves on to showbiz, fashion, advertising, glamour and from that to pornography, he did this at a time it was not legalized yet making him one of the forerunners pushing the boundaries for acceptance of depicting human sexuality in Great Britain.
His battle to produce and publish pornography led to several court cases against him for alleged violations of the `Obscene Publications Acts`. John Lindsay successfully managed to escape prosecution for a longer period of time via loopholes in the legislation, such as by claiming to produce exclusively for the European Continent (which he did, see by example some titles released on German Amorette Film series, but not exclusively) and also by opening two membership only cinema clubs that did not need content approval from the censor allowing him to screen pornographic films.
