This film would not be made today without a drawn out scene showing a celebration of her 18nth birthday. I enjoyed the film regardless.
The film points out that the stigma of incest is so strong that most families and society won't admit that incest is probably much more common than admitted to. Question is how does a social scientist get to the true numbers?
Also, a distinction should be made about sex. Everyone uses the term "" rather loosely and incorrectly. is when a person has an attraction to a that has not experienced puberty. HEBEPHILIA is the correct term for an attraction to a young, but person that is post puberty. A hebephile is attracted to 13 to 17 year olds. Truthfully , there should be a legal distinction in the classification of the "crime" involved. Easy for an adult to get caught up in a legal system when a 13 to 17 old behaves like an adult. Someone banging someone 12 and under should have the book thrown at them, but 13 to 17 year olds involved should have a different less serious legal consequence. Honestly, what man hasn't looked at a 17 year without lust? Same for a woman, 16 year old "boy" high school athlete with a "tight butt" doesn't stir desire? We are in an era of denying that 13 to 17 year olds have REAL sexual curiosity and desires that need to be dealt with in an honest, not overly religious/moral hysteria. 13 to 17 year olds are attracted to people often much older which can set up a whole series of "complicated situations" (usually for young males 18 to 22.)
Just trying to give something out that needs to be looked at rational minds working overtime. No I am NOT a "perve", just a guy that has studied this issue for 5 decades. This film presents a moment to examine the issues.
