A Coming Of Angels (1977)

Description: The story told in “A Coming Of Angels” concerns Jamie Gillis and his kidnapping/white slavery organization. His accomplices are Amber Hunt and John Leslie. He kidnaps one of our “angels” who are attempting to break up his white slavery ring. Along the way we’re introduced to Jamie Gillis’s methods for training the women for their future masters. His method involves chaining them to the walls and forcing them to strip naked while he watches in a very creepy (and effective) manner. Eventually the captives rebel leading to Jamie Gillis receiving his just punishment.

Review:
The Caballero dvd of A Coming Of Angels is presented in full-screen which doesn’t appear to be correct because during the ending credits the names are cut off on the left and right of the screen, but during the rest of the movie you don’t notice anything really being cut off. Unlike earlier Caballero dvd’s this one is on one track so you don’t have those layer changes that cause the pauses, such as on Amanda By Night.

The story to this movie is that Mark (Jamie Gillis) is an evil kidnapper who sells the women he kidnaps to various buyers. Before he does this though he and his evil sidekicks train the women how to be sexually submissive. This movie was meant to be a take off of Charlie’s Angels, with Carrie (Annette Haven), Jennifer (Abigail Clayton), and Robin (Leslie Bovee) playing the angels. Jennifer has been kidnapped by Mark and his gang and so the other two angel’s are out to find her and that is the basic plot to the movie. Robert (John Leslie) has a serious problem throughout the movie. The women never let him get off, which turns out to be quite funny. Even his boss Mark (Jamie Gillis) doesn’t let him finish before dismissing him from servicing the women, but I guess that’s how it is when your evil. The movie almost seemed to develop some plot line as to why Mark (Jamie Gillis) was unable to love women, but it stopped just short of this and left it to your imagination and maybe it was better this way, because it did make you wonder what was wrong with him.

The sex in this film tended to be light bondage, nothing too harsh though. This film reminded me very much of a Jess Franco film if any of you have seen any of his films you’ll know what I’m talking about. If you are looking for a light sex comedy type film then look elsewhere as this will not be the film for you. This isn’t Debbie Does Dallas type fare. This film had a very serious tone all the way through it, which made it feel like a drama. In fact I would label this film a porn/drama.

Everyone in this film is nice enough looking, so there are no complaints from me in that department. The acting was mostly excellent, with Jamie Gillis and Annette Haven doing especially nice acting jobs. It is nice that this movie was presented in what appears to be the uncut form because had it been edited and from what I’ve read in the past it has been this film would have been incomprehensible.

This film has one sex scene that has a psychedelic feel to it, which I found interesting. There is oral, lesbian, straight, and s&m sex in this film.

This is a hard movie to either recommend or not recommend to someone. The sex is not as hardcore as more modern films, so if you are interested only in that I would advise you to look elsewhere. This film has a depressing feel to it, so it might not be for everyone, but if you like a lot of plot and light S&M then this film might be one you would be interested in. This film is going for $10 and up online. For the lower price It's well worth a watch. I hope this review will be helpful in helping you decide if this film is one in which you will be interested in or not.
