Review:
Another great flick from the Golden classic era. It stars one of the all-time greats, Veronica Hart, who was probably the best actress to appear in adult films and no slouch when it came to the sex, either. In this movie she plays a liberated woman determined to enjoy her life and her sexuality on her own terms. Veronica was one of a handful of stars in those years who was always classy no matter what she was doing. So was co-star Candida Royale, seen here before she got behind the camera. Tiffany Clark was also a pretty and worthy performer. Plus there's Merle Michaels, one of the great unsung heroines of erotica. Her performances were just about always outstanding and she often outshone bigger names starring with her.

Roberta Findlay could usually be counted on to deliver a high quality film. About the only negative for me was Bobby Astyr, one of the few men in adult films who rubbed me the wrong way.
Veronica Hart turns in one of her most memorable performances ever in this white-hot 1982 scorcher. Veronica plays the wanton wife of a super-rich magazine publisher, a woman who needs more erotic excitement than one man could ever provide. Luckily for her, Veronica's marriage to Ashley Moore is the epitome of open: she is free to dabble in debauchery with any man she desires. Veronica uses her mans money to support a string of would-be artists, novelists and musicians, eventually sending them on their way once she grows tired of them. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets struggling author Robert Bolla and finds herself actually falling for him. Veronica takes Robert under her wing, guiding him through a steamy coupling with Merle Michaels in order to teach him how to please a woman.
Eventually, though, Veronica wants Robert all to herself. But how will she reconcile her newfound love with her swinging lifestyle? The answers are enticingly erotic. The Playgirl represents Golden Age porn at its peak, with fabulous cinematography, convincing dialogue, a believable plot, stellar performances from all the actors and actresses, and some searingly torrid action. An all-time porn classic by any standard.
