Review:
Sweet and bubbly young lass Susie (an appealing performance by yummy voluptuous brunette Tamie Trevor) embarks on a series of merry carnal misadventures while searching for an apartment in New York City. Writer/director Danny Steinmann, who went on the make the 80's exploitation gem "Savage Streets" and the fifth "Friday the 13th" entry, keeps the entertaining episodic narrative bouncing along at a zippy pace, maintains an engaging lighthearted tone throughout, astutely captures the breezy carefree vibe of the period, and milks plenty of laughs from the amusing sense of blithely lowbrow humor. Better yet, Steinmann has a ball breaking the fourth wall at regular intervals and gives the film an extra stylish kick with all kinds of nifty cinematic flourishes. The sex scenes are quite arousing and energetic, with a scorching Sapphic session involving Jutta David and Mireille Renaud and a wild psychedelic climactic orgy that goes on for twenty blistering minutes rating as the definite erotic highlights. Harry Reems contributes a lively and hilarious turn as the infantile Herbie, Jamie Gillis delivers a hysterically raunchy monologue prior to partaking in a dynamic threesome, and Marc Stephens pops up as a participant at the orgy. Jacques Urbont's funky-throbbing score hits the get-down groovy spot while the cute songs further enhance this picture's infectiously upbeat and playful charm (the theme song in particular is an absolute pip!). Maurice Finkelstein's fluid and floating cinematography provides an impressive polished look. A really fun "adults only' flick.
Tamie Trevor is having a tough time with her sex life so her doctor recommends that she have some adventures. Her apartment hopping in search of the same provides the premise, as she wanders through the high rise meeting both interesting and oddball characters. The three way lesbian scene is 1st rate, as is the scene with Harry Reens, forever memorable in an engineers hat playing with his elaborate train sets. French actress Marielle Renaud appeared in a number of American films and john Clemens (Devil in Miss Jones) plays Tamie's husband.
